Once you decide to schedule a session we will have a consultation over the phone or in person if you can swing it. We will send you an information packet with scoop on clothing and other helpful suggestions we’ve accumulated. The more thoughtful our planning, the more successful the images are. Our goal is to have a comfortable, creative, fun time. Sessions can run thirty minutes to two hours easily. We will shoot as long as your crew is enjoying it. You will receive online proofs and contact sheets within two weeks of the shoot. The online proofs are available for two weeks. We will schedule a studio time to look at your selections on our color calibrated monitor. At this time we will discuss how these images best meet your needs. We will hone options such as color, black & white and cropping. If there is a time crunch please let us know when you schedule your appointment and we can discuss options and rush fees.

Studio: We have a studio attached to our home. It is a great place to capture numerous expressions, interactions and tiny details. The studio gives us a more controlled environment so that there are fewer distractions for the little ones. The dramatic, artistic effects of studio work are some of our favorites. Here we are able to highlight those precious features that change so quickly, such as hands and feet, more effectively. A studio portrait results in a pure, clean, uncluttered image.

Location: We love scouting and honing new locations. We especially enjoy shooting in the client’s home. Shooting in your home automatically creates a sense of personality and energy. We can craft a few images and then shoot others in a more unobtrusive, candid manner.

"Irretrievable Moments": This is a phrase we started using to describe a portrait that captures the essence of your children’s everyday lives. It is a piece of art that celebrates the extraordinary as well as the ordinary. It is in those moments, amidst the chaos of everyday life, when you take a step back, that you look at your children and know life is simply beautiful. Those irretrievable moments are different for everyone. Therefore, we will spend some time discussing what moment you want to memorialize for your family.
